Malayalam university Convocation held
Addressing the gathering at the third convocation of Malayalam university, Dr. Rajan gurukkal encouraged students to face their future field of action with confidence. He said that by attaining higher education , each student has to enter a life of action on the basis of the knowledge that they have internalized.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Usha Titas IAS emphasized that the student should not only be be able to eminate the existing knowledge but also to contribute novel ideas, theories, philosophies and points of view. She said that Malayalam university has taken upon itself the responsibility to make academic contents available in Malayalam itself. She added that Malayalam university has been successful in prompting the development of language and literature through modern technology.
Registrar Dr. K. M. Bharathan, Controller of examinations Dr. M. Sreenathan, Dean, Students Welfare Dr. T. Anithakumary and students union chairman Shri. K. Pranav also talked at the function. 118 candidates (2015-2017 batch) from ten departments (Linguistics, Literary studies, Creative writing, Cultural heritage studies,Media studies, History, Sociology, Environmental studies and Film studies) were conferred MA degrees. 45 candidates were conferred M.Phil degrees.
