Grama Swaraj @ 20 : History of Decentralization: Picture Exhibition
The students of Local Development Studies arranged a stage, ‘Grama Swaraj@20’ in the Rangasala. It was intended to bring out the formation and history of two decades of activity of The Three-tier Panchayat System. The desire to get acquainted with the new three-tier Panchayat System, was emphasized. An exhibition, demonstrating the decentralized state of affairs of post-independent India, was organized. Working of local government bodies, their history and structure, were described in considerable detail. About one thousand selected students could view the exhibition.
