The departments of Cultural Studies and History are jointly organizing an exhibition titled “udayada verum vazhiyum” (Apparels: their origin and progress) on the dressing and ornamental culture of Kerala from October 10 to 13. The exhibition will showcase the phases of dressing and ornamental culture from the beginning of the habit of dressing. There will eight galleries on from undress to dress, daily attire, formal habit, ornaments, costume, uniform, politics, industry and modern trends in dress. The first gallery ‘from undress to dress’ will showcase the history of evolution of dressing from the natural state. The history of struggles related to dress will be showcased in the gallery titled politics of dress. The gallery of modern trends will showcase fashion clothes. The exhibition will be opened by the Vice-chancellor,Dr K. Jayakumar in a function presided Dr K.M. Bharathan, on 10th October, at 10 a.m.
