Demo class on Nangyar kooth was held  in the university auditorium. Ettumanoor Kannan gave an introductory speech and Dr. P Venugopalan delivered the keynote speech as part of the lecture series. Kalamandalam Ratheeshbhas, Kalamandalum Vaneesh and Kalamandalam Nitha played various accompaniments and Kalamandalam Sindhu performed Nangyarkooth. Vice Chancellor Dr. Anil Vallathol said in his inaugural speech that it is difficult to retain the purity of the classical arts in their entirety. Dr. T. Anithakumary and Dr. E. Radhakrishnan also talked at the function.
