Bio

Dr. K. S. Hakim received his PhD (2022), MPhil (2014) and MA (2011) in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi where he trained as an ethnographer and historical sociologist. His major research interests lie in the Sociology of Movements, Sociology of Literature, Symbols and Symbolism, Narrative Analysis, Biographical Studies, Sociology of Emotion and Social Theory. Hakim also has longstanding interests in methods, heuristics, and the philosophy and practice of sociology and social anthropology

K. S. Hakim joined the School of Sociology, Malayalam University in 2016 as a permanent faculty. He is the founding issue editor of the Sociology Research Journal of Malayalam University, and he also holds the responsibility as a reviewer to academic publications in sociology and social anthropology.

As part of his doctoral program, he has presented papers and chaired academic sessions in conferences held in different Universities, including Leiden University, the Netherlands, Lund University, Sweden and South Asian University, New Delhi.

Given his research interests, Hakim is available to supervise graduate students in the areas of social movements, ethnography and narrative analysis, sociology of emotion; and decolonial approaches in social theory and the sociology of knowledge.
