Admission

M.A. Courses

  • Minimum requirement to apply for any M A course is a UGC recognized degree. Application forms can be collected/ submitted online or by post or directly in person. Eligible applicants are required to take an hour long entrance test. Examinations are held on the dates and locations announced in advance. An applicant can apply for a maximum of two courses, and appear for separate tests for each subject.
  • Application fee

Course (1)   -    Rs 450.

         Course (2)  -   Rs 900

  • For reserved categories ( SC/ST/Differently abled candidates)

  • Applicants shall appear for an aptitude test conducted for each course. There will be questions for 100 marks out of which objective type questions for 20% marks and descriptive type questions for 80% marks. One candidate can opt 2 courses.
  • A minimum of 40% marks in the entrance test is the requirement. Marks obtained in the degree examination and in the entrance test will be cumulated on a 50:50 basis and rank list prepared and published accordingly. This rank list will form the basis for admission to the courses. The policies of the government for reservation of seats, and for fee relaxations will be strictly followed while admitting students to the various courses. Maximum age limit is 28 years (while joining the courses). For schedule caste and scheduled tribe applicants, the age limit is 30 years. First Semester starts in August and ends in December, and Second semester starts in January and ends in July. Summer holidays are in April and May.

M.Phil courses

  • Minimum requirement to apply for an M Phil course is 55% marks in the concerned Masters Degree examination. In the case of scheduled caste and Scheduled tribes and physically challenged students the minimum requirement is 50% marks.
  •  Marks obtained in the entrance test and the Masters Degree examination will be cumulated on a 50:50 basis and rank list prepared and published accordingly. Duration of M Phil programme will be one year, comprising two semesters.

Ph.D programme

  • Minimum requirement to apply for Ph. D programme is 55% marks in the concerned Masters Degree examination . In the case of scheduled caste and Scheduled tribe and physically challenged students the minimum requirement is 50% marks. Eligible applicants will be invited for a written examination.
  • Marks obtained in the entrance test, marks obtained the Masters degree examination and marks obtained in the interview will be cumulated on a 50:25:25 basis and rank list prepared and published accordingly. Duration of Ph. D programme will be three years, comprising six semesters.
